국제평화태권도단 창단의 우여곡절
-기적이 아니라, 역경을 견디며 이뤄낸 새로운 출발-

국제평화태권도단(International Peace Taekwondo Group, IPT)의 창단은 상상조차 어려운 난관 속에서 다시 일어선 재건의 이야기이다.
11년 전, 한국의 전통문화가 외교 무대에서 당당히 자리해야 한다는 확신을 바탕으로 태권도 시범단의 구상이 처음 시작되었다. 오랜 준비 끝에 2021년 중국에서 ‘한국태권도시범단’이 창단되었고, 한국대사관 공식 리셉션에서 최초로 태권도 시범공연을 선보이며 역사적인 순간을 만들었다.
그러나 장기화된 코로나19 팬데믹은 곧 운영을 마비시켰다. 지도진과 단원의 이탈, 그로 인한 대규모 환불 사태, 각종 왜곡 정보와 악의적 비방이 이어지며 단체는 붕괴 직전까지 몰렸다. 많은 지인들이 안전과 안정을 위해 모든 일을 멈추고 한국으로 돌아가라고 조언했다. 그들의 진심 어린 걱정에 감사했지만, 평생 지켜온 신뢰와 약속을 스스로 저버릴 수는 없었다.
상황은 점점 더 험악해졌다. 노후를 대비해 준비해 온 모든 기반이 하나둘씩 무너졌지만, 포기하지 않기 위해 남아 있는 모든 힘을 쏟아부었다. 새로운 단원을 모집하는 일은 말 그대로 ‘맨땅에서 시작하는 것’과 같았고, 중국 전역의 문화·체육·교육기관을 직접 찾아다니며 지원 네트워크를 처음부터 다시 세워야 했다.
2023년부터 2024년까지의 시간은 거의 모든 것이 소진되는 시기였다.
그럼에도 “다시 시작해야 한다”는 결심이 나를 버티게 하는 힘이었다.
사라졌던 신뢰는 서서히 회복되었고, 같은 뜻을 가진 사람들이 한 명씩 다시 모이기 시작했다. 예기치 못한 장애가 반복해서 발생했음에도 준비를 멈추지 않았고, 마침내 새로운 이름으로의 재탄생을 선언할 수 있게 되었다.
그 이름이 바로 국제평화태권도단(International Peace Taekwondo Group, IPT) 이다.
재정, 인력, 훈련 체계, 공연 구성, 대외 홍보 등 모든 시스템을 처음부터 다시 세우는 일은 거대한 도전이었다. 그러나 그 과정 속에서 단체의 존재 이유는 오히려 더 명확해졌다.
“태권도를 통해 국제평화에 기여한다.” 이것이 IPT가 존재해야 할 이유였다. 그리고 2025년 11월 17일, 주중한국문화원에서 열린 창단식은 4년간의 고통스러운 시련을 견뎌낸 끝에 맞이한 역사적 순간이었다.
국제평화태권도단의 창단은 기적이 아니다. 수많은 실패와 역경 속에서도 결코 포기하지 않고, 끝까지 앞으로 나아가기를 선택한 사람들의 굳건한 의지가 만들어 낸 결과이다.
오늘 국제평화태권도단은 더 큰 국제무대로 향하고 있으며, 우리가 극복해 온 모든 어려움은 이제 새롭게 써 내려갈 역사의 가장 소중한 토대가 되고 있다.

The Challenging Journey Behind the Founding of the International Peace Taekwondo Group
- A New Beginning Forged Not by Miracle, but by Endurance Through Adversity -

The founding of the International Peace Taekwondo Group (IPT) is a story of rebuilding in the face of unimaginable hardship.
Eleven years ago, driven by the conviction that Korea’s traditional culture must stand proudly on diplomatic stages, the vision for a Taekwondo demonstration team first began. After years of preparation, the Korean Taekwondo Demonstration Team in China was launched in 2021 and made history by performing the first-ever Taekwondo demonstration at the official reception of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Beijing.
However, the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic soon brought operations to a halt. The departure of key instructors, the ensuing large-scale refund crisis, widespread misinformation, and targeted defamation pushed the organization to the verge of collapse. Many caring acquaintances urged me to stop everything and return to Korea for the sake of safety and stability. Their concern was deeply appreciated, yet abandoning the trust and promises I had upheld my whole life was not something I could accept.
The environment grew increasingly hostile. Everything I had prepared for my later years disappeared one piece at a time, yet I poured every remaining ounce of strength into not giving up. Recruiting new members felt like “starting with my face in the dirt,” and I had to rebuild the entire foundation of the team from scratch—visiting cultural, sports, and educational institutions across China to reconstruct a network of support.
The years 2023–2024 were a period of near total exhaustion.
Even so, the determination that “I must begin again” became the force that kept me standing. Lost trust slowly returned, and individuals who shared the same purpose began to gather, one by one. Despite repeated and unexpected setbacks along the way, we remained steady in our preparations, and at last, the organization was ready to declare its rebirth under a new name:
the International Peace Taekwondo Group (IPT).
Rebuilding every system—from finance and personnel to training, performance structure, and public communications—was an immense undertaking. Yet through this process, the organization’s core purpose became even clearer:
to contribute to international peace through Taekwondo.
And on November 17, 2025, the inauguration ceremony held at the Korean Cultural Center in Beijing marked a historic moment—one achieved only after enduring four years of relentless hardship.
The founding of IPT is not a miracle.
It is the result of people who persevered through failure and adversity, who refused to give up, and who chose to keep moving forward with unwavering resolve.
Today, IPT is stepping onto a larger international stage, and every hardship we have overcome has become the most valuable foundation for the new history we are now beginning to write.

国际和平跆拳道团艰难的创团历程
- 并非奇迹，而是在极限逆境中锻造的新起点 -
国际和平跆拳道团（IPT）的成立，是在无法想象的艰难之中重新站起来的历史。
十一年前，基于“应让韩国传统文化自信地走上外交舞台”的信念，跆拳道示范团的构想由此萌生。经过多年的准备，2021年“驻华韩国人跆拳道示范团”正式成立，并在韩国驻华大使馆官方招待会上，首次登台呈现跆拳道表演，创造了历史性的时刻。
然而，新冠疫情的长期影响很快使运营陷入停滞。核心师资的离开、随之而来的大规模退费、持续不断的误传与恶意抹黑，使团队一度濒临解散。许多关心我的朋友真诚劝我放下所有，在最艰难的时期回到韩国。虽然我心怀感激，但我无法违背自己一直守护的信任与承诺。
外部环境越来越艰难。为晚年准备的一切保障仿佛逐项消失，但为了不放弃，我倾尽所有力量。招募新成员的过程几乎是“从零开始、寸步为营”，为了重建团队的根基，我亲自前往中国各地的文化、体育、教育机构，从头重新搭建合作网络。
2023至2024年，是身心几乎被完全耗尽的阶段。
即便如此，“必须重新开始”的决心成为支撑我站立的唯一力量。
失去的信任逐渐恢复，认同团队使命的人们开始一点点聚拢。尽管期间不断出现突发状况，我们依然稳步推进各项准备。最终，我们得以宣布以全新的名称重新出发：
“国际和平跆拳道团（International Peace Taekwondo Group）”。
从财务、人力，到训练体系、演出编排、宣传沟通，所有系统都必须从头重建。这一过程异常艰巨，但正是在这样的重压之下，团队的核心宗旨变得愈发清晰：以跆拳道为纽带，为国际和平作出贡献。
2025年11月17日，在韩国文化院举办的创团仪式，标志着团队经历四年严峻考验后迎来的历史性时刻。
国际和平跆拳道团的成立，从不是偶然的奇迹。
它是无数次挫折与苦难中仍然不肯放弃的人们，凭借坚韧意志一点一滴累积而成的成果。
如今，国际和平跆拳道团正迈向更广阔的国际舞台，而过去经历的所有逆境，都将成为开启新历史最宝贵的基石。
